Welcome to South Lake Macquarie Amateur Sailing Club (SLMASC) ….

SLMASC is located at Sunshine on the beautiful shoreline of Lake Macquarie NSW, only 5 minutes from Morisset, 40 minutes from Newcastle and an hour from Sydney.

The club offers a friendly relaxed atmosphere with magnificent water views over southern Lake Macquarie, with great clubhouse facilities and some of the best sailing conditions in the country.

SLMASC fosters the development of sailing with a growing learn to sail program providing an ideal foundation for juniors to move on into dinghy classes and yachts, which are also sailed at the club. SLMASC has a strong background of hosting major sailing regattas, with various dinghy classes regularly returning for their state and national titles. The club was also the proud host of the 1994/95 Moth World Championships which were a great success with entrants from around the world. While the club boasts capabilities in hosting major dinghy regatta’s, the club remains small enough to retain the friendly family atmosphere for which it is well known.

Apart from exceptional water views and sailing conditions, clubhouse facilities include a multi-purpose function hall capable of seating approx 120 people and a large well equiped kitchen. On race days a shop and canteen operate selling a range of snacks and take away meals. The clubhouse is also regularly used by various local community groups and organisations.

To enjoy all that SLMASC has to offer, why not become a member? Run entirely on a volunteer basis, the club prides itself on providing good value and in keeping prices as low as possible, with family memberships available. Don’t delay …… join today!
