Club Update – This Weekend – 17th & 18th

Yacht Interclub Race 3 this SATURDAY at SLMASC
and
Club Dinghy Racing & Learn To Sail classes resume this SUNDAY

We hope you had a great Christmas and New Year and enjoyed (or are still enjoying) your holiday break.
Just a quick reminder that the second half of the sailing season kicks off at SLMASC this coming weekend with Twilight racing (pointscore) resuming this Friday Night, Dinghy racing resuming on Sunday, and Race 3 of the SLMASC/MPASC Interclub Yacht Series to be held at SLMASC this coming SATURDAY 17th January 2015.

As for the previous Interclub Yacht races this season, the start on Saturday will be in two separate divisions (see website for your assigned starting Division) with Div 2 warning signal (5 minutes warning) at 1330 and Div 1 warning signal at 1345 …. But please check all details in your Sailing Instructions! If your yacht does not appear on the Division listing on the website and you intend to race, please contact racing@slmasc.org ASAP (please don’t leave it until Sunday morning) or see us at the club this Friday afternoon before/after the twilight race. Both divisions will have scratch starts and yachts in both divisions can use spinnakers, with overall results being based on combined TCF results. Please ensure you have a copy of the current Sailing Instructions (with amendments) and the Interclub Course sheet (which is different to the regular club courses).

After a mixed week weather wise it looks like Saturday is going to be perfect for yacht racing, and with MPASC having narrowed the gap on SLMASC after race 2, we have a tight series up for grabs with just 2 races to go. Team SLMASC needs as many boats entered in these last 2 races as possible, so we hope to see you out on the water as part of the winning team 😉

Smooth Sailing

Team SLMASC

PS: If you need a club burgee to fly in the Interclub Race or during the Club Yacht cruise on the Australia Day weekend, they are available from the club shop for just $5 (grab one on Friday evening).
