Just a final reminder that Race 5 of the Yacht Interclub Series will be hosted by SLMASC this Sunday 16/3/14.
The series is in the balance with SLMASC trailing MPASC by just a few points after 4 great races, so Team SLMASC needs every boat possible on the water this Sunday to maximise our chances of retaining the trophy (and bragging rights) for another season.
The list of boats by division has been posted on the Interclub Events page of the website, but if you are intending on racing and your boat is not listed, then please call or text 0438 724599 ASAP (don’t leave it until Sunday) so that we can set a handicap for your boat and include you in the race and team results.
An amendment to the Sailing Instructions (Amendment 002) has also been posted on the Yacht page of the website below the Sailing Instructions. This amendment is primarily to clarify a question raised with the Sailing Committee regarding interpretation of section 8 (obstructing the start / finish line), with the revised and more detailed wording hopefully being self explanitory. Amendment 002 also includes a new Appendix B (Interclub Course sheet) applicable for Race 5. Note that the courses in this revised Appendic B have NOT changed from those published in the previous version, with the current amendment simply clarifying the race and date that the courses apply to due to an additional race having been added to the series. If you have any questions regarding these amendments, please contact a member of the Sailing Committee.
The club and bar will be open on Sunday afternoon during racing for those who can’t get out on the water to race. All participants and ‘shore crews’ are encouraged to come back to the club for a BBQ and the series presentation which will follow shortly after the conclusion of the race.
