Provisional results from yesterdays yacht race have now been posted on the yacht page of the website, and congratulations to the crew of Y-Knot on their win. These results will be verified by the handicap committee on Monday evening with the final results then being posted.
As indicated last week our aim will be to post these provisional results ASAP after the conclusion of racing each week, once received from the host club. We were unable to do so last night due to a mix up with the sail number used by one boat that has now been clarified. To avoid future issues all skippers need to advise of any change to sail numbers to the race officer conducting the race prior to starting (phone or radio the club conducting the race on the day of racing, or email to racing@slmasc.org on the day PRIOR to the race).
Next week sees the first of the yacht double headers, with 2 shorter races to be held at SLMASC on SATURDAY with water based scratch starts on a short triangular course using the club inflatable markers. This should make for some very tight racing, and with more boats getting back in the water and ready to go it should be a great day. If if you haven’t hit the water yet this season, next SATURDAY will be a great time to start. Make sure you have your new SLMASC sailing instructions with you as these races follow different starting procedures and courses to other weekend club races.
