Zhik 2013 …. a handicappers dream!

The 2013 Zhik regatta has been run and won for another year, with the 2013 event providing the closest results between the classes yet, with 7 different classes featuring in the Zhik Top 10 places.

Day was sailed in light conditions, with SLMASC’s Chris Caldecoat winning race 1 in a Finn, with more consistent breezes in race 2 bringing the foiling Moths back into the running with Scott Babbage winningf Race 2. Stronger breezes on Day 2 saw the moth fleet in full flight, with David Lister winning both race 3 and race 4, ensuring him an overall win in the regatta. SLMASC sailors faired well. with Michael Brown (impulse) equal second overall (3rd on countback), and Chris Caldecoat (Finn) close behind in 4th. It was also great to see many SLMASC juniors racing, with Scott Singleton-Turner (Laser 4.7) finishing 3rd in the Junior division. Our intrepid Opti sailors also survived the weekend, competing in all 4 races. Well done to all.

A very big thank you to the many SLMASC volunteers who made the weekend so enjoyable and such a success.

Full results have been posted on the Zhil Single Handed Regatta Event page.
